It’s Episode 33 of Track TR with CensorTrack. This week we’re talking about how the professional networking site LinkedIn censored an Air Force veteran’s testimony of hard work and perseverance.
Gretchen Smith is an Air Force veteran who founded a nonprofit, Code of Vets, in her late father’s honor. Smith shared a bit of her journey going from poverty to running her nonprofit as a way of advocating against President Joe Biden’s student debt erasing bill.
“I am not responsible for your student debt,” Smith wrote in a post on Twitter and LinkedIn, “I joined the Air Force then went to college. I made it happen.”
LinkedIn removed her post for supposedly violating the platform’s policy on “hate speech.” Apparently esteeming hard work qualifies as “hate speech.” What LinkedIn really meant to say was that it disapproved of Smith’s take on one of Biden’s “Build Back Better” plans.
Smith risked her life for the freedom we have in this country but has limited freedom online — that’s not right. Big Tech is more focused on pushing Biden’s irrational agenda than allowing our first liberty to be honored. It speaks volumes about where they place their priorities.
