If Twitter and the leftist blue checks who hate Green Bay Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers were hoping the controversy surrounding his non-vaccinated status and rejection of woke culture were going to be enough to get him canceled, then I’m happy to disappoint them.
It looks like Rodgers is going to be just fine and one of his biggest sponsors isn’t going anywhere.
Fox News reported that State Farm did not drop Rodgers from its representative role despite numerous calls for it to do so. Prevea Health disassociated itself from Rodgers this weekend. The insurance company, however, is not allowing themselves to be distanced. It stated that it respects decisions and perspectives of everyone, although they disagree with all that Rodgers has said.
“Aaron Rodgers has been a great ambassador for our company for much of the past decade,” State Farm told FOX Business.
“We don’t support some of the statements that he has made, but we respect his right to have his own personal point of view. Our customers, agents, and brand ambassadors are all from different backgrounds, so we recognize that they have differing opinions on many topics. State Farm exists to make communities safer and stronger. To that end, we encourage vaccinations, but respect everyone’s right to make a choice based on their personal circumstances.”
State Farm will treat everyone as an adult.
Rodgers’ appearance on Pat McAfee’s program and his version of events led to calls for cancellation. Rodgers pushed back against the vaccine narrative and stated that he was on Ivermectin. He also flatly denied the media and woke mob attempts to bring him down because he didn’t fully conform with their woke culture.
Naturally, this would infuriate the leftist mobs, but it would appear that State Farm isn’t caving regardless of the pressure. This tells us several things.
It may be that State Farm looked into the Rodgers support and concluded it was far more important than the hate. Despite their best attempts at making themselves seem like they’re representative of the majority’s opinion, those in support of Rodgers made their presence clear in many different ways.
Their research may also have revealed that some of their customers refuse or are reluctant to receive the vaccine. Rodgers may be able to help them separate from Rodgers by allowing many to leave their insurance companies and start a new business.
Third, it is possible that they are being honest and do truly respect people’s decisions about vaccines or their view on woke cultures. Not something you’re used to seeing out of a corporation, but anything is possible.
State Farm, a large company in any case, is likely to be followed by many others regarding their Rodgers position. Once one company makes it clear that it’s safe to stay, others are far more likely to as well.
Regardless of State Farm’s reasoning, it’s good to hand cancel culture and the woke mob an L.
