Blistering Doc ‘Whose Children Are They?’ Takes on Teachers Unions

Fathom Events frequently speaks out about the other half of America that Hollywood neglects.

Special events company that screened Christmas with the ChosenFor example, last year. It was a faith-based film that earned big box offices in the heartland.

However, the latest Fathom Events premiere could unite both blue and red states.

Who Are Their Children? This is an avenger attack on 21st-century public schools. This documentary will be shown in theatres across the country on March 14th. It criticizes schools for teaching children Critical Race Theory, Black Lives Matter, and other topics. Both scholastic success and the students are left behind in this progressive shuffle.

Deborah Flora (producer on the film, and key player in its cast), says parents have had it enough.

Flora is a Colorado Republican running for Senate. She shared the story of how and why this movie was made with Hollywood in Toto.

HiT: Who are Their Children? couldn’t be more timely … when did the project officially begin and was there a specific incident that sparked its creation?

Deborah Flora:Parents United America was founded by me three years ago. I had been one of many parents who were silenced when they waited for hours to speak against the age-inappropriate Comprehensive Sex Education bill. The Curriculum Transparency legislation I introduced was then immediately sent to kill committee.

This confirmed that it was now time for parents to unite and bring the truth out with an open expose on all that’s going on at our public schools.

We knew from the moment we turned Douglas County School Board over that our parental rebellion was a powerful movement, which if fueled by critical mass will finally achieve educational freedom for all and preserve innocence for every child.

It is this goal that the documentary aims to achieve.

HiT: Who are Their Children?Although it may appear right-leaning, many topics in this film are bipartisan. What can you do to expand upon that large tent approach?

Flora: What I have found as President of Parents United America is that it doesn’t matter if you are a Democrat or a Republican, you are a Mom and a Dad first. It is essential and not partisan to have the ability to see what your kids are learning.

The politicized straw man arguments don’t hold up anymore. Most concerned citizens support the unfiltered and full teaching of history. However, they are against the ideology of CRT that is built on the 1619 Project (which even its creators acknowledge isn’t history).

Additionally, while we all support reproductive biology taught at the right age, there is widespread opposition to sexualizing children under five years old. The unifying principle is that parents, not the state, are the ultimate authority in their children’s lives.

HiT: Parents are becoming more active across the country regarding public schools, but the entrenched teachers unions aren’t going away. How can parents take steps to move forward?

Flora:We support teachers and want them to understand there are other options.

Citizens can choose to elect candidates for the school board who do not have to be union-funded and will stand alongside elected officials that promote curriculum transparency and encourage tax dollars and money to support the student, not the system.

Parents can make sure they know what is happening in their own children’s schools, and if they attempt to shut them out, then find alternative options for their children’s education. This is the time to allow every child, from all walks of life, true educational freedom.

HiT: What made your team support the Fathom Events plan for release? For those who miss the film’s theatrical screening will there be other ways to catch it?

Flora:It is well-known that this movement is nationwide, so it’s important to release the movie in over 750 theaters. The film is expected to last a lifetime, including on streaming and DVDs.

If someone is unable to attend this evening, they can still sign up on the website WhoseChildrenAreThey.com to be notified of the next opportunities. This tool was created to be used by all Americans and can be shared widely to encourage them to unite.

It will live for a very long time.

HiT: There are documentaries that have a profound impact on culture. No matter what one thinks of Al Gore’s mission, his Inconvenient TruthThe event made an enormous splash. They were a big hit. BlackfishSeaworld was hit hard by documentary. Your film can rock the culture in a similar way? How?

Flora:Our conviction is that the comprehensive disclosure of public school systems will encourage citizens all over the country to join forces for education reform. Parents have been excluded, teachers bullied, and citizens concerned have not been aware of the dramatic shift in education that is taking place over many decades.

COVID was the first step leading to the parents uprising in our country as they at last saw their children’s curriculum, and our goal is for this documentary to be the tool that pushes it to the tipping point so that people of good will stand together and demand a return to education not indoctrination.
