Here’s an interesting question: when it comes down to believing CNN or Joe Biden, if what they are saying is conflicting, who do you believe? This might prove difficult given their proclivity to lying.
CNN reports that during a call Joe Biden made to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Thursday, Biden warned him that an invasion was almost certain.

“A Russian invasion is now virtually certain once the ground freezes, Biden said to Zelensky, a senior Ukrainian official told [CNN reporter Matthew Chance],” tweeted fellow CNN reporter Alexander Marquardt.
“Kyiv could be ‘sacked,’ Russian forces may attempt to occupy it, ‘prepare for impact’, Biden said, according to this official,” Marquardt went on.
According to the report, Biden had told Zelensky that they would not receive significantly more military support, that no U.S. troops would be sent to Ukraine for defense, nor would there be any advanced weapons or progress on NATO and that Russia would only be sanctioned if it invades.
National Security Council spokesperson Emily Horne called the report “completely false,” according to CNN anchor and chief national security correspondent, Jim Sciutto.

2/ “…Reports of anything more or different than that are completely false.” – @emilyhorne46NSC Spokesperson

And this: “Also, no one said ‘sacked.’ The only person who should be ‘sacked’ is the anonymous source who is circulating an inaccurate portrayal of this conversation.” 3/

If you look at those two things together, I don’t think they’re necessarily fully contradictory. Horne is more or less conceding they talked about an invasion coming in February, just that Biden didn’t use the word “sacked” to describe what might happen and that might be an interpretation of what Biden said using other words. And we know Joe Biden is not exactly temperate in his words and could pretty much say anything — whether it makes sense or not.
CNN reports that Zelensky planned to inform Biden to lower his rhetoric about the threat. Ukraine thinks this is possible, but it’s not certain. According to the Independent UK, CNN said Zelensky fears “panic and economic impacts of Mr Biden’s language, which even before Thursday had centred on hyping up the severity of the threat Ukraine faces.”
And so, despite all of the hype surrounding the threat, Biden also harms Ukraine.
Buzzfeed’s Christopher Miller, who has been covering Ukraine for years and has great sources there, said his sources basically confirmed CNN’s report.
My sources in Zelensky’s office say this is relatively accurate regarding what Biden said. Zelensky, however, disagreed with this US assessment. I was also informed by sources that the US does not have a timeline set for an attack from Russia. Also, it is currently too hot here. FWIW… 33F. https://t.co/Z173vbBlWm

The CNN report alleges that neither the U.S. or Ukraine provided official statements.
Here’s what Zelensky said about the call.
A long telephone conversation was had with @POTUS. We discussed recent diplomatic attempts to de-escalate and we agreed to joint actions in the future. We are grateful to the President @JoeBidenongoing military support. There were discussions about financial assistance to Ukraine. pic.twitter.com/pAsQLYAuig

This statement from the Ukrainian Embassy says “some” reports are completely false.

The problem of course is that both Ukraine and the Biden team have reason to not include Biden’s comments, if he said them. The Biden team wouldn’t want another Biden gaffe out there, and Ukraine needs assistance so they’re not going to do anything big to throw Biden under the bus at this point. The situation is only getting worse. On Thursday, we reported how the Biden Team threatened to close the Nord Stream 2 pipeline if Russia invades, as well as promising additional sanctions.
Now, the GOP House Judiciary Members are calling for the release of call transcripts.

It’s a disaster, as it is with Biden.
