Biden Administration Changes Course, Decides to Commit Political Suicide Over Mask Mandate Ruling – Opinion

Earlier on Tuesday, news broke that the Biden administration had decided not to appeal the ruling from a federal judge in Florida that found the CDC’s mask mandate on airplanes, trains, and other forms of transportation unlawful.

But because Joe Biden’s presidency is the most incoherent in American history, it took only a few hours for his handlers to reverse course. The DOJ and CDC are now in the clear. It willAppeal the decision. That comes after the CDC determined the mandate is still “necessary.”

It is important to note that the DOJ will never seek an emergency stay for the ruling. That means the process could drag on for many months until any victory for the administration occurs. This means you’ll have many maskless flights continuing well into the summer, even before the CDC attempts to restore the mandate. How well do you think that’s going to go over with most Americans?

I find this move to be political suicide. Is there anything to gain by living on this hill? Scientifically, the mask requirement for planes and trains does not make sense due to the presence of filtration systems. We are also firmly at a point where the vast majority of Americans are “over” COVID-19. They are not willing to accept pointless mitigation. They will only increase the political backlash that is expected to hit them in November if they are forced to continue this lunacy.

It is also noteworthy that Biden said that mask-wearing should remain up to each individual. However, Biden’s handlers repeatedly contradicted his statements.

Has it ever been more clear that Biden isn’t in charge of his own presidency? Nothing he says matters, and those who ostensibly work for him don’t even bother to keep a pretense of coherence anymore. While grandpa Joe talks and wanders about, they do what they like.

The administration is in serious trouble if this happens. This is how it should be. Or they can win their appeal well into the summer and reinstate the mask mandate just before the mid-terms. OrAnother high-profile case is lost, which causes them to be embarrassed and even rebuked before the midterms. Yet, with those two possibilities staring them in the face, the White House has said, “Yeah, that sounds like a great plan.” It’s hilarious to watch, but mind-numbing all the same.

Lastly, I’ll be curious how the airlines respond to this. Many airline chief executives have stated openly that the mask mandate was pointless. If the mask mandate is reinstated and they refuse to apply it, will they be able to see their spines? Will they allow passengers to continue suffering to the expense of their businesses? I guess we’ll find out.
