Baghdad Chuck: US Can’t Boycott China Because ‘Our Democracy is Not So Good’

Keep reading to see if the leftist media is ignoring the United States of America. Meet the Press host Chuck Todd actually suggested on Sunday that “our democracy is not so good” because the United States has been unable to assemble a coalition of nations to enact a diplomatic boycott of China.

“I can’t help but wonder our inability to get the world to follow us on a diplomatic boycott of China on something that’s fundamental about sort of what we believe should be freedom bigger than financial ties. It makes me think, well maybe the example of our democracy is not so good,” Chuck Todd said something outrageous during a panel discussion.

Putting aside the fact that the United States isn’t a democracy but instead a constitutional republic, these comments from Todd are anti-American.

Todd stated that America was unable lead the boycotts of other countries against China. “people are thinking, why are we following you guys? I mean it’s hard not to see that.”

It’s obvious Todd has trouble seeing that our “democracy” isn’t in trouble or to coin a phrase from CNN “in peril.”

Former Obama Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson, who followed Todd’s line of thinking, fed into Todd’s lunacy by bringing up the January 6 riots at the Capitol as additional proof that the United States is losing its influence abroad. Claiming: “The first thing that I thought of after January 6, following up on what Elaine said. We used to call it peaceful transfer of the power. Peaceful transfer.”

Todd agreed to this, saying: “it made us different.” Johnson ended by agreeing, “it made us different. We can no longer say that.”

CHUCK TODD (Chicken Todd): It’s hilarious, Jeh. I will draw a line. However, I am puzzled at our inability get the rest of the world to support us in a diplomatic boycott against China. It is fundamentally about what we believe freedom should be greater than financial ties. I think it makes me question if the example we set for democracy in China is not good enough. So people start to wonder, Why aren’t you guys following us? I mean it’s hard not to see that.

JEH JOHNSON : I was thinking of the first thing after Jan 6, and it was Elaine’s words. Peaceful transfer of power was what we used to call it. Peaceful transfer. We are.

TODD: We were made different.

JOHNSON – It made us different. This is something we can’t say anymore.
