Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Wants Kyrsten Sinema Primaried – Opinion

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D as in dingleberry – NY) is the gift that keeps on giving. The latest addition to the high-humorousness of her life is to demand that U.S. Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D as in determined – AZ) be primaried over her refusal to fling the filibuster into the round file over Roe v. Wade’s possible overturn.

Sinema is refusing to take action on the filibuster. We can protect Roe tomorrow. Until that changes she can take a seat talking about “women’s access to health care.”

Perhaps AOC thinks Sinema is more attractive than Sinema. But I digress.

Ironically, Alanis Morissette-level, is the fact that Sinema supports abortion and is not a ally in Republican efforts to make it a state-level issue. AOC can be angry at Sinema for not denying her use of a parliamentary procedure that her party will most likely use when they hope to return to Republican control of Congress in November.

For the Supreme Court to decide, this is a matter that will be decided by them. Even if the current Congress attempted to push through a bill legalizing abortion at the federal level, how delusional must AOC & co. be to believe enough red district or state Democrats facing re-election this fall would severely risk their political future by supporting the bill?

They persist, however.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., and members of the group of left-wing congresswomen known as the “Squad” are urging their colleagues to pass a bill that would codify Roe v. Wade and reestablish a federal right to abortion. Some Democrats state they need to abolish filibuster because of their slim majority.

You can do it!

It is not easy to fault the Democrats for going into full-on dogpanic mode. They’ve seen the polls. They see that Biden has become increasingly frail and they are rushing into 25th Amendment poster-boy territory. They are well aware that the economy is an unreliable floating wreck waiting for the right reef. And don’t ask about foreign policy unless you want to hear about citizens dying in Ukrainian streets and Chinese forced labor camps.

Assuming the GOP doesn’t muck it up too badly, which given who we’re talking about is always a concern, no matter how much the media yells “SQUIRREL!” between now and November, the Democrats will be shellacked. And no, AOC, it won’t be Kyrsten Sinema’s fault if a pro-baby murder … er, abortion bill doesn’t pass Congress before the next one is seated.
