According to the latest poll, the media continues to lie about Florida’s new legislation and continue their decline in influence.
First off, taking polling results seriously is a fool’s errand, as these tools of the press have not only been shown to be deeply inaccurate but the methodology behind them is frequently suspect. The fact that these fake headline-making methods are used to make polls is a reason to highlight the results. The latest rake-stepping comes out of the persistent lying made by news outlets on Florida’s parental rights bill.
ABC News presented its Ipsos-partnered polling over the weekend on the Florida law that was recently approved by the legislature. The news network was not holding back on what it read into the returns, declaring “These results indicate a lopsided rejection of laws such as the one shown. Florida recently received the following:This limits the amount of information elementary schools can offer about gender identity and sexual orientation.”
ABC News also notes, “The poll found stronger support among Republicans.”
You do not need a Master’s Degree in Statistics AnalysisThis poll is intended to identify the problems with it. First off, how many of the respondents have actually read the language of the bill, compared to those who have been swayed by the weeks of media outlets wrongfully calling this the ‘Don’t Say Gay Bill’?! The question was then posed in the following manner, pushing more respondents toward a conclusion: A different topic is: Do you agree or disagree with legislation to prohibit elementary school teachers from discussing sexual orientation and gender identity?
This is a departure from the actual language of the bill — something the network provides deep in its article but not in the question — which stipulates that this is only limiting particular topics which might be deemed age-inappropriate for the very youngest of students. From Kindergarten to third grade, the bill includes sexual topics as well as gender identity and issues. This poll is biased by an even larger issue. Take a look at the detail at the end of this piece.
This ABC News/Ipsos poll was conducted using Ipsos Public Affairs‘ KnowledgePanel® March 11-12, 2022, in English and Spanish, among a random national sample of 622 adults with an oversample of LGBTQ+ respondents.
You can drive a poll and get the numbers you desire, strengthening your story. This is what is missing from the discussion. It is notAddress Floridians and parents of young children, who are most likely to be affected or calling for new legislation. Another poll is available, which, surprisingly, has a rather funny timing. It’s both closer to affected gentry as well as more revealing through its operators.

Below are the key factors making the DeSantis display of support even more shocking. Dade County is heavily blue. Fernand Amandi was next to conduct the poll. He is an advisor for the Democratic Party and a regular guest on MSNBC. Amandi just declared it a Defcon-1 moment(This was the year that a Spanish-language conservative channel began. It is not unusual for a prominent leftist to survey in an historically liberal area and find this level of support for Ron DeSantis. IncreaseHe was a great supporter.
Add to that the large Hispanic population in Dade County and this is more proof that they are losing their grip on the electorate. These numbers point to the all-important issue of media’s decreasing influence on the people. After weeks of selling us this fable that a new law is preventing all people from saying the word “gay” and resorting to hysterics to paint a politician as an intolerant ogre, they become exposed by their own game.
One laughably rigged poll is used to “prove” their point, while another poll conducted by one of their own delivers what has to be a chilling result. These data points may show us the most amazing thing: they refuse to see the light.
