ABC, NBC Wail: DeSantis Targets Disney for Supporting Child Grooming!

After the Florida state Senate passed legislation revoking Disney’s special self-governing privileges over their support for sexually indoctrinating little children in schools, ABC’s World News Tonight NBC Nightly NewsIn a state of meltdown

Muir introduced the segment on the Florida legislature revoking Disney’s self-governing privileges as a “political move”It was completed “at the urging of Governor Ron DeSantis.”

Victor Oquendo reported from Florida. “the move is an effort to punish Disney for publically opposing Florida’s so-called ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law”We bemoaned the lack of it “Governor DeSantis has lashed out at corporate America for attacking the law.”

Oquendo expressed concern about the way that Disney’s special district, which is primarily carved out for Disney, will have to manage public services such as utilities and garbage collection.

Local communities that have been able to benefit from Florida’s deal with Disney may now have to pay for these services as well. The debt they could take on could reach a quarter of a million dollars.

Oquendo said that DeSantis was being shamed and intimidated one more time. “this is the biggest private employer in the state, with some 20 million people visiting Walt Disney World every year.”

Holt began by claiming Florida as a smug opening on NBC. “lawmakers struck a blow against Disney at the urging of Governor Ron DeSantis after the company spoke out about what critics have dubbed the state’s Don’t Say Gay law.”

Kerry Sanders, the correspondent, lamented about this as she continued to pile on. “Florida’s new fight against the house that Mickey built”How it works “the latest chapter in a confrontation between Disney and Florida Republicans led by Governor DeSantis who pushed for the legislation after Disney called for the repeal of Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law, what critics dub the ‘Don’t Say Gay’ law, that bans classroom discussion on sexual orientation and gender identity for children in kindergarten through third grade.”

At least NBC used the law’s real name, even though Sanders added the left’s fake name for the law at the end.

It’s ironic that the leftist media is going after DeSantis for standing up to big corporations when the left are the ones who claim to hate the wealthy.

This latest example of ABC & NBC freaking out over DeSantis protecting children from sexual indoctrination and big corporations was made possible by LifeLockABC News, Liberty MutualNBC. The following information has been linked.

DAVIDMUIR: At Governor Ron DeSantis’s request, we turn our attention to Florida’s next political decision tonight. The Florida state Senate voting to terminate Disney’s self-governing privileges in Florida, after Disney took a stand on the controversial new law in that state that opponents have labeled the “Don’t Say Gay” law. Our parent company is Disney. ABC’s Victor Oquendo, our parent company is also in Florida tonight.

VICTOR OQUENDO: Tonight, at the urging of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, the Republican-controlled state Senate voting to strip the Walt Disney Company of the special status granting it self-governing privileges in Walt Disney World and the surrounding areas.

(…)

OQUENDO. The action is designed to sanction Disney for publicly opposing Florida’s controversial “Don’t Say Gay” legislation. The law restricts teachers’ ability to discuss LGBTQ issues within the classroom. Governor DeSantis hit out at corporations for criticizing the law.

(…)

OQUENDO. At first, Disney CEO Bob Chapek took a neutral position on this controversial law. Chapek then resigned from the controversial law after some protests were raised by employees at Disney. Disney issued a statement stating that their goal was for the legislation to be repealed or struck down by the courts. DeSantis was not happy with this statement. He announced this week that Florida’s state legislature would attempt to take away Disney’s ability to regulate itself.

GOVERNOR RON DESANTIS : The governor will consider ending all special districts established in Florida before 1968. That includes the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

OQUENDO (Orange County): This district was created in 1967 through a contract Walt Disney and his family negotiated. The agreement allows Disney, in addition to providing its own services such as firefighting and waste removal, to avoid local taxes and regulations. Tonight, a top Florida Republican said, “Disney was a guest in Florida.” We remind them. Disney World was also the most prominent single-site employer of the state. DeSantis is being denounced by Democrats.

(…)

OQUENDO. Another reason to be concerned is the possibility that communities in Florida who have been able to benefit from Florida’s arrangements with Disney could have to pay for these services as well. These communities could be responsible for upto a billion dollars in debt. According to the Mayor of Orange County, his focus is on “Unfunded Cost Shifts to Local Governments.” Tomorrow, the Florida House will vote on it. Expect Governor DeSantis to sign. The Walt Disney Company has not yet commented. This is also the largest private employer in the state with 20 million visitors to Walt Disney World each year. David?
