Abandoned: Networks Bury Biden’s Border Crisis in November as Coverage Drops to ZERO

The border crisis is spiraling out-of control, and liberal media outlets are trying to suppress any discussion of it. U.S. Customs and Border Security reports that in November there were 173,600 crossings at the southern border. This represents a 5 percent increase on October. But, evening newscast coverage fell to zero. Zero minutes and zero seconds on ABC’s World News TonightIt is the CBS Evening News The NBC Nightly News.

That’s down a stunning 100 percent from March when the same network newscasts felt they couldn’t ignore the deteriorating crisis at the border. The total number of viewers that month was staggering 98. Coverage for 113 minutes for 173,281 encounters.

Evening news broadcasts on the network were particularly interested in Some border conflictsIn November they were still in Europe. The dispute between Belasrus, Poland was covered by all three networks. On November 16, World News Tonight’s David Muir opened the show by worrying: “Overseas, tonight, our team on the scene of the violent clash involving migrants at the border separating Belarus and Poland.” This is an important story, but it’s depressing that journalists thought it was the only border crisis worth covering.

There were some increases in border coverage during the two months before November. The September border encounters reached 192,001 in September.

It was nine per cent higher than in August. NBC had the highest number of stories with 23 minutes and 26 second focus. CBS was in second place with 16 mins 32 seconds, while ABC placed third at 14 minutes and 12 seconds.

However, some of the coverage came from left-leaning journalists who reacted to border agents riding horses on horseback and claimed that migrants were being whipped. This was on the 23 September Nightly News, reporter Morgan Chesky warned the Biden administration: “The White House under fire over these images of border patrol agents on horseback.”

Joe Biden also commented on the footage that day and it was covered by all three networks. It was September 23, CBS Evening News, Manuel Bojorquez noted, “The controversy over border agents on horseback dispersing migrants continued, with President Biden weighing in.” Speaking of border agents, Biden proclaimed, “It’s outrageous. I promise you, people will pay.”

Networks seemed to be able to see that September’s border disaster was serious in September. CBS Evening News anchor Norah O’Donnell warned, “Tonight is becoming more dire at the border. Thousands of migrants have waded across the Rio Grande.”

The coverage fell again by October. ABC’s evening newscast had only 2 minutes and 16 seconds. CBS managed just 4 minutes, 55 seconds. NBC reached double digits with 10 minutes, 25 seconds. Nightly NewsWe investigated issues such as the migration of migrants from Colombia or the risk of Covid being brought across the border. Although October encounters with border agents were slightly lower than usual, they still remained historically high and were the highest in 22 years.

Almost half of CBS’s October total, 2 minutes and 21 seconds on October 29, was devoted to misconduct by border agents. Evening News‘s O’Donnell lectured, “Tonight, a little known unit within the U.S. Border Patrol is being accused of interfering in investigations of fatal encounters involving its agents.

ABC’s World News TonightTwo reports only on the border were published in October. One on October 3rd and one brief Halloween report. Laughably, reporter Whit Johnson on October 3 insisted, “There are fears that there will be a crisis at America’s border.”

Looming? The crisis isn’t coming. It’s here. But you wouldn’t know that from most of the network coverage in October, as well as the total abandonment of it in November. Journalists and anchors from ABC, CBS and NBC still do everything they can to defend Joe Biden (and the Democrats) against the awful reality of our southern border.
