There are many examples of media failing to influence national opinion.
One week ago I reported on how the media industry is losing its control of the news, and in particular its ability to drive certain issues. Recent months have shown the news outlets’ ability to steer narratives has not only waned but might be on the verge of dissipating. We now have more examples of this loss.
We can now move on to the second round of the announcement, which follows my previous column. It was the end of CNN+. While the new streaming service was fraught with deep problems from the start – many would say, since inception – it was still a bit of a surprise to see the parent company call for the entity’s outright cancellation.
It is an egregious example of immense ineptitude combined with hubris, two characteristics that are evident at the network. CNN as a normal network has been in trouble for nearly a whole year. The network’s ratings are down and the company has been able to rack up scandals in quick succession. CNN, which is one of the three major cable news networks, has struggled to get any show into the Top 30. The show is nowhere near the top 30. the 1-million viewer plateau, Anderson Cooper is the show’s top host at 8 pm. Each hour sees a decrease in viewers.
It was absurd to think people would pay for unwatchable content if they didn’t get their broadcasts. However, the launch cost them a lot of money based on highly distorted projections. Sarah Fischer was awardedThese internal documents show the fantasyland world that these executives operated in. They saw a day where subscribers would reach the 30-million level, comprised mostly of what they called ‘’CNN Superfans.’’
Axios obtained internal research on CNN+ from May 2021. It shows that the value proposition of a paid video news service wasn’t clear to consumers who were suffering increasingly from news fatigue. one CNN source says that research — which was distributed widely within CNN — was eventually dismissed as inaccurate, another said it shows why employees outside of the CNN+ team were skeptical of the service.
This is a sign of the smoke-blowing and gaslighting that can be expected from this network.Brian Stelter displayed the artwork, as he addressed CNN+’s implosion. Stelter tried to spin the story, instead of analysing the causes. “It’s too early to know if this product and this service was a success or a failure. You know you’ve got all the haters today saying this thing was a failure. I don’t know we can even ever assess that.”
CNN+ cost $300 million to set up, promote and shut down. This announcement was made after only 24 broadcast days. Brian, that’s $12.5million per day. It is safe to conclude that this was an absolute disaster. This is not the only instance, however, where the media has lost much of its influence on the public.
Think about how Joe Rogan, a podcaster, has been subject to media criticisms for his willingness to voice opinions freely and broadcast them. The press noticed a new way to attack the man after months of demonizing him over his views on the pandemic and suggesting that his Ivermectin treatment helped him recover from the COVID infection. In February, a video was released of Joe Rogan using the dreaded N-word — a fully cancel-worthy act, according to the press.
This was an extreme move supported by SuperPAC Meidas Touch, which is liberal. This video was actually a collection of Rogan’s utterances of the word in a period of 12 years. It only lasted 30 seconds. It was meant to be the final blow that brought down the podcast giant. CNN even ran a number of pieces on this alleged news event, one of which likened Joe’s thought crime to the highest level of threat.
Rogan’s defense team and his actions since the vidClips eoThe possibility of him using the “n-word” on social media can be just as deadly as the mob’s attack on the US Capitol last January 6.
CNN then made bold accusations to emphasize the point of this broadside attack on the media.
Rogan broke a civic rule that had held America together since World War II. It’s an unspoken agreement that we would never return to the kind of country we used to be. The agreement was based on a simple principle: A White person will never again be allowed to use the word n-word publicly and without being charged a fee.
It is a serious charge in court of public opinions. What was Rogan’s final sentence? The sentence has been handed down – The details were provided by Sister Toldja earlier todayRogan and Spotify are making great profits for their customers. In the quarter just ended, the number of their subscribers increased by 15 percent. The total user base has also grown to over a million. Revenues have also risen 24 percent from the previous year. The media cancellation was a complete failure.

The purchase by Elon Musk of Twitter has created another major media scandal. The media has responded with a lot of hyperbole and outrage at his actions. Although initial reports suggested that he would be prevented from serving on the board of directors, he chose to take over the entire company. Further press coverage followed, cheering the desperate and potentially illegal attempt of the board to poison-pill the purchase.
While the media outlets controlled by billionairesThey tried to convince us that a billionaire investing in the media was dangerous. Journalists tried to sell us on the idea that free expression – for us – was a threat. This could all be explained by a failure of the billionaire to quell his passions. They did manage to change public opinion. People will likely flee this social network once he is in control.
Or…not

If 2022 goes at the current pace, the press will do about the same as what the Democrats expect to achieve in the November election. Given the manner Joe Biden was sold to the public by the media, this is understandable. They are now facing the warranty of these returns.
