It’s all about Being TherePeter Sellers stars in this 1979 comedy. Sellers portrays Chance, a Washington, D.C., gardener. Chance is as thick as brick. Chance becomes a political scholar by mistake due to his ability to utter platitudes and stupid-speak. D.C. insiders and politicians are so taken with Chance’s nonsense that he becomes a rising political star.
Chance is clearly seen to be the next person in line for the presidency at the end. But Chance isn’t smart, or good at anything. Chance is an idiot, who is elevated to a position he is wholly unqualified for – next in line for the presidency.
Here is one of Chance’s political ‘insights’
“In the garden, growth has its seasons. We have spring, summer and fall first. Then we have winter and then again. And then get spring and summer again.”
The D.C. insiders take Chance’s nonsense as brilliant allegoric commentary on politics. The audience knows the Chance is an idiot — the joke’s on the politicians who think he’s really an oracle.
Kamala Harris: I agree.
Kamala is perhaps the most unworthy politician we have ever seen. She’s done nothing of substance to elevate her political star. Although she may be one Biden brain-freeze away from taking over the presidency, Chance the gardener is her real identity. Her status as a woman from color makes her Veep.
Harris’ poll numbers are lower than Biden’s, and Biden’s numbers, are a disaster. NBC interviewed her a few days back. She was asked questions slightly harder than “what’s your favorite ice cream.” She was asked about changing course, doing something different. Harris was the next subject. Harris appeared to be Bambi under the headlights. Harris’ well-practiced voice, which was quiet, said the following:
