NewsBusters Podcast: Confounding the Covid Crazies for Christmas

On Wednesday’s podcast, newly minted early bird Curtis Houck and I discuss the Covid crazies in the media who are desperately trying to get America to reinstitute mass lockdowns. We also do a rundown of the fun project I worked on: “2021’s Top Dirty Dozen Fredo Moments from CNN’s Former Wise Guy.” And chatted with the newest member of the NewsBusters night crew, former intern Kevin Tober about his first few days of analysis.

I began by discussing the first item on my docket. NBC Nightly News anchor Lester Holt pressing Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy to use his position to tell people to impose “self-lockdowns” since cities and states refused to.

“As a health professional, someone who’s committed to protecting the health of the American people, would you recommend that we self-lockdown, that we begin to change our lifestyle and dial back on all fronts,” he pressured the health care official.

Another example of NBC trying set up They are addicted to it to “despair porn.”

Curtis and me then go over Chris Cuomo’s most embarrassing moments in 2021, before he was fired by CNN.

And once Kevin joined us we looked at the analysis he’s put out the last couple of days, including “CBS Resists Criticism from Biden Testing Flop” and “NBC News: The GOP and Manchin are starving children by tanking build back better”.
