Hemp, also known as cannabis Sativa, contains tetrahydrocannabinol, THC of low levels amounting up to 0.3%, with the Farm Bill of 2018 defining hemp as containing THC content below 0.3%. Hemp seeds contain chemicals, proteins, and fat processed to produce hemp oils or creams that people can use for eczema, high cholesterol, constipation, and arthritis. However, the Food and Drug Administration in the United States has not approved the efficacy or safety of hemp cream, so you should consult a doctor before interacting with hemp cream.
The cream lacks the psychoactive compound present in weed which causes one to get high after consumption but is believed to contain medicinal value. You should apply hemp cream on the skin, and you must take caution not to apply the cream on broken or wounded skin as it may irritate. The hemp body cream is easily absorbed by the skin upon application, which provides medical benefits by improving some health problems.
Hemp cream contains seed oil acquired from hemp, providing all the benefits hemp oil provides. Although there is no conclusive evidence of the medicinal value, the following are five health benefits brought about by using the hemp cream.
1. Relieves Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) and Menopause Symptoms
Hemp cream contains gamma-linolenic acid GLA, which promotes the hormone prostaglandin production. The reduced levels of prostaglandin cause sensitivity to prolactin which causes the emotional and physical symptoms of premenstrual syndrome. Consumption of hemp cream decreases the PMS symptoms in women who have PMS.
During menopause, women experience mood changes, chills, hot flashes, weight gain, among others. The symptoms are caused by the high levels of gamma-linolenic acid in their bodies which can be decreased by applying the hemp cream.
2. Eczema
Eczema is a health condition where the skin on any part of the body itches, producing irritating red and dry skin in children and adults. The dryness and itch may cause the skin to peel, leaving cracks that expose the skin and causing dehydration. You should apply the hemp cream on the skin suffering from eczema, which controls the itching and helps repair the skin.
Hemp cream contains fatty acids that moisturize the skin upon direct application and help strengthen the skin. The cream promotes balance on the glands that secrete sebum, produces oil for the skin, and contains anti-inflammatory properties that provide a soothing and comforting effect to the skin. It would help if you did not abuse the hemp cream as overuse may cause adverse effects such as thinning of the skin that leaves it prone to eczema.
3. Psoriasis Inflammation
Psoriasis is a skin condition where the cells multiply faster than normal, causing chronic inflammation of the joints, itchy, scaly, and red skin. The skin surface has a build-up that you can reduce by applying hemp cream, which contains fatty acids such as omega-6 and omega-3 that contain healing properties. The cream contains antimicrobial properties that prevent bacterial and yeast infections on the skin, causing it to be healthy.
Hemp cream reduces the inflammation caused by psoriasis and moisturizes the skin, counteracting dryness. The cream has been proven to slow down uncontrolled cell multiplication, which is beneficial in reducing the number of cells produced and the bumps on the skins’ surface.
4. Dry and Cracked Skin
Hemp cream contains anti-aging products that prevent or slow down skin symptoms that come with age. With age, the skin develops age-related thinning and dryness that you can reduce by applying hemp cream that removes face lines and wrinkles. The cream improves the skin’s brightness, elasticity, moisture retention and stimulates skin generation for healthier and moisturized-looking skin.
Hemp cream is used to moisturize dry skin since it contains fatty side and hydrating properties that nourish the skin. Where you are experiencing acne, apply hemp cream as it contains anti-acne and anti-inflammatory properties that clear it off with regular use.
5. Tattoo Care
When getting a tattoo, the skin is irritated, which may cause inflammation on the tattooed area. Hemp cream regenerates the skin and provides instant relief by soothing and treating the irritation to reduce the pain and inflammation. Hemp cream helps reduce scabs that occur after getting a tattoo and slows down the rate at which the tattoo fades.
