With crime exploding, border crossings at an all-time high, and the nation’s travel system in chaos, what else could you do to make Americans less safe? Well, if you’re Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, you could force out up to 14,000 Army National Guard troops who refuse to get the COVID vaccine.
It is possible that this could occur on Thursday. This Friday was the last day for troops to vaxed. According to the Associated Press, this number could be even greater.
Up to 40,000 Army National Guard soldiers across the country — or about 13% of the force — have not yet gotten the mandated COVID-19 vaccine, and as the deadline for shots looms, at least 14,000 of them have flatly refused and could be forced out of the service.
Guard soldiers can get their vaccine until Thursday. The Associated Press has found that between 20 and 30% of Guard soldiers from six states have not been vaccinated. More than 10% are still required in 43 states.

Austin, in a memo to his troops in August 2021 stated that soldiers must be immunized.
We need to have a strong and healthy force in order to defend our Nation. After careful consultation with medical experts and military leadership, and with the support of the President, I have determined that mandatory vaccination against coronavirus disease…is necessary to protect the Force and defend the American people.
Despite the fact that many questions remain about safety and efficacy of the vaccines, it is important to remember these. Take a step back, or grab your vaccines. “Our bodies our choice” does not apply here, because for liberals, that slogan only seems to apply to abortion.
According to Guard Leaders, the states are making every effort. EncourageForcing soldiers to take the shot is not an option. They promised to try. Work withFor the most part, coerce those 7,000 individuals who are seeking exemptions.
What does “work with,” mean, pray tell? This means that your religious exemption has been denied. If you don’t want the boot, brace your arms.
The Army National Guard has until Thursday for 40,000 troops to be vaaxed or they risk being dismissed.
This entire BS “mandate” is a JOKE! pic.twitter.com/55LM2JCvxV— 🇺🇸ProudArmyBrat (@leslibless) June 26, 2022
This after the Supreme Court in January struck down Biden’s OSHA mandates which required companies with over 100 workers to get all their employees dosed. This was a significant setback to the Biden administration. OSHA regulations were unconstitutional power grabs, however, unfortunately, the SCOTUS ruling was not applicable to the Department of Defense.
Expect the Department’s approach to be harsh. In a letter to seven governors who asked Austin to reconsider the mandates, he flatly rejected a review, saying the virus “takes our service members out of the fight, temporarily or permanently, and jeopardizes our ability to meet mission requirements.”
There is an obvious counter argument to this assertion: Taking thousands of soldiers out of active duty puts at risk readiness more than the threat from the virus. Director of the Army National Guard, Lt. Gen. Jon Jensen admits:
When you’re looking at, 40,000 soldiers that potentially are in that unvaccinated category, absolutely there’s readiness implications on that and concerns associated with that. That’s a significant chunk.
What do you think?
We ask a lot of our Army Guard soldiers—putting their lives at risk, exposing themselves to danger in places like Kenosha, being prepared to jump into action at a moment’s notice. Our military’s rampant wakeism is making soldiers reconsider their decision to service. To make matters worse, thousands of people will be forced to leave because they refuse to receive an experimental vaccine. I wouldn’t want to be a military recruiter right now.
