After being honored with a major GQ Men of the Year Award, climate activist Greta Thunberg appeared on the October issue of the iconic men’s magazine.
The GQ Men of the Year awards ceremony took place last month in London.
In August, British GQ announced the 16-year-old Swede would be receiving the “Game Changer Of The Year Award,” which was created especially for her.
The current issue features the teen climate change reform advocate pointing directly at the camera, wearing a jacket emblazoned with the words: “Can You Hear Me?”

“Her fearless dedication to raising awareness of the global climate change crisis makes her the absolute embodiment of this award and on behalf of GQ we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate her,” said GQ editor Dylan Jones in August.

“I am very grateful and this award is for everyone in the Fridays For Future movement, everyone whose school is striking for the climate. We all deserve this award because together we have accomplished so much. So thank you to everyone who has been school striking as well,” Thunberg told the magazine in August.
Thunberg is in the running for the Nobel Peace Price. Last month, she was named one of four winners of the 2019 Right Livelihood Award, known as Sweden’s alternative Nobel Prize.

Thunberg has recently become a media sensation and sparked a worldwide youth movement demanding action on global warming through weekly “Fridays for Future” protests.
But some critics argue that militant proponents of climate change, like Thunberg and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, are alarmists whose doomsaying is unhealthy and misguided.

In addition, some conservatives have criticized what they perceive as Thunberg being exploited by adult activists. Liberals have pushed back against such critics, arguing it is cruel to attack a child.
