James Woods Exposes Dems’ Deepest Fears With Brutal Caption: ‘Look Closely at Nancy’s Expression’

“You okay, lady?”

James Woods on Sunday tweeted out an image from a recent Rolling Stone cover, adding a caption that cut to the heart of establishment Democrats’ fears about the future of their party.

The image shows House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., smiling alongside Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn. It originally appeared on the magazine’s front page in February under the headline “Woman Shaping the Future.”

Woods gleefully shared part of the spread hours after Pelsoi appeared on CBS’s “60 Minutes” and tried to downplay Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s socialist wing of the Democratic Party as only “like five people.”

“Look closely at Nancy’s expression… #lol,” Woods commented.

In a follow-up tweet, the conservative actor turned Twitter warrior added: “She looks like a kidnap victim with a gun to her ribs, and the cop is asking, “You okay, lady?”

Minutes earlier, Woods shared a link to the “60 Minutes” interview, saying: “She’s lost control of the commies…”

The tweets capture the reality that at 79 years old, Pelosi has increasingly seen her party defined by a younger generation of Democratic women. Along with fellow freshman congresswoman Rep. Rashid Tlaib of Michigan, Ocasio-Cortez and Omar have dominated the political media with their left-wing proclamations and over-the-top criticism of the Trump administration.

Pelosi has repeatedly sought to reign-in the women, with varying degrees of success. In February, she got Omar to apologize for saying U.S. support for Israel is “all about the Benjamins baby,” and even to admit that the comments were anti-Semitic. In March, Ocasio-Cortez backed off her talk of impeaching Trump and deferred to party leadership.

However, Pelosi last month failed to pass a resolution condemning anti-Semitism in response to further anti-Israel comments by Omar, instead settling for a vague rejection of bigotry in general. On Saturday, she had to defend Omar after President Donald Trump came after the Muslim congresswoman on Twitter for characterizing the Sept. 11 attacks as “some people did something.”

Democrats and their supporters have raised concerns that such incidents are alienating mainstream voters and potentially dooming Democrats’ chances of retaking the White House or making gains in Congress in 2020.

When Stahl pushed Pelosi on her party’s increasing association with socialism, Pelosi repudiated the ideology, saying that “I do reject socialism as an economic system. If people have that view, that’s their view. That is not the view of the Democratic Party.”

Elsewhere in the largely laudatory profile, Pelosi recounted standing up to Trump and reiterated her opinion that he is unfit for office and knows it.

Trump, who has been said to admire Pelosi despite their political rivalry, responded to the segment scornfully.

“Such a ‘puff piece’ on Nancy Pelosi by @60minutes, yet her leadership has passed no meaningful Legislation,” he tweeted Sunday night. “All they do is Investigate, as it turns out, crimes that they instigated & committed.”
