Why Is the Left Obsessed With Drag Queens? – Opinion

Is it because the left is obsessed with drag queens.

If you’ve ever lived in metropolitan America for any length of time, you’ve probably seen a drag queen show at least once in your life. Drag has always been a type of performance art, but reached new heights of popularity with the RuPaul reality show, ‘Drag Race.’ Drag queens aren’t new on the American landscape.

Transgender drag queens are another thing they’re not. The entire ‘hook’ of the art of drag is watching grown men transform themselves into caricatures of grown women; many times they are imitating celebrity women. There is always a sexual element. Drag performances are known for their exaggerated femininity.

Some say it is glorified blackface, some say it’s just cheeky, adult fun.

No one said until recent that this was entertainment for kids. Why are elected officials trying to make drag shows suitable for kindergartens?

Some will say it’s an attempt at grooming. There are groomers, pedophiles and other people who can control a child. That’s (sadly) not that unusual. There may be some adult advocates for this agenda that are true groomers. However, I think it’s a bit of an overreach to suggest that every person exalting a Drag Queen Story Hour is a budding pedophile.

This is exactly the problem that we face with mainstream progressive media. It’s not about legislative duties, the constitution, facts or information. The leftists seem to be having the best time ever, as this is just one large troll. Most of them just get so tickled that simply mentioning bringing a drag queen’s sexually explicit performance into a classroom or “child-centric” setting makes so many people so angry. It brings back memories of the quirkiness of the gay movement in the 80s, 90s.

“We’re here! We’re queer! Get used to it!”

In the midst of the rise in gay rights, queer activists had a lot of success being outspoken and aggressive. However, trans activists do not follow the same strategy. This is a big mistake.

For one thing, conflating “transgender” with “drag queen” will backfire spectacularly, eventually. One person can imitate the other, but they will never be the same as the original. One is seeking “normality” and other thrives on looking abnormal, and stimulating the visual. While one seeks to fit in, the other wants to stand out. Transgender trends that make them look the same are just as fake as other drag performances.

Perhaps their biggest mistake is underestimating just how serious parents take protecting children. They live in isolated enclaves, where the progressive elite is far removed from average American parents. They see pictures of kids looking at naked marchers in “Pride” parades and imagine that most parents are “pride” parents and the few prudes in flyover country are the outliers.

They’re wrong and will find out why in November 2022 or November 2024.

Parents don’t find this type of behavior intolerable because we’re a bunch of stuck up prudes. Understanding sex and sexuality is vital to becoming a parent…I hope I don’t have to explain that further to anyone. We understand sex, and most of us like sex (okay, okay, I’ll stop there). The behavior of parents is abhorrent because it targets their children to abuse. It also objectsifies their children while rejecting the wisdom and authority that comes from their parents.

You can do a lot to a mother like me, but when you come for my kids, there is no “live and let live” anymore.

Progressives should reconsider this agenda. However, they have the support of Big Tech and media censorship which prevents them from understanding what parents actually believe. The false impression is that parents are the laughing stock.

They will get the joke. They do this because they think they’re just trolling us into corporate shame.

They’re doing just the opposite. This creeping madness is being stopped by more parents than ever before. The trolls will find out soon enough, and they won’t be happy.

They have the right to troll libraries as many times they wish. We’ll take our actions to ballot box.
