The Washington PostIt claims to be an activist group that lives by the principle Democracy Dies in Darkness. But in reality, when it comes to issue like climate change, the Left doesn’t trust Democracy to get anything accomplished. The literal poster child for this view is teenaged radical Greta Thunberg, honored on the cover of Sunday’s Washington Post Magazine.
This K.K. cover headline was: Ottesen interview was:
Great Thunberg’s Statement on the State of the Climate Movement
…and the roots of her power as an activist
The “roots of her power” are obviously the global elite, starting with the media elite. She appealed to children who would see their future destroyed by pollution, and not scientists. However, inside the magazine the headline read:
“WE CANNOT COMMIT WITH THE LAWS of PHYSICS”
Nearly every question in the PostInterviewer: This was the worst interviewer.
You think that being so quick to respond was due to your shock at the young girl revealing uncomfortable truths to adult experts.
Liberals assume that weather forecasts can be trusted. Greta’s problem is that Greta doesn’t think everyone is radical enough. Although the UN summit last year was “PR” in nature, Joe Biden does not consider himself a leader because “The U.S. actually expands fossil fuel infrastructure.” Her appeal to the media is to push for a more radical position. The “toughest question”:
Some people who are interested in climate changes take a diplomatic approach, knowing that there is no substitute for compromise. Do you ever worry that the “blah, blah, blah,” or more combative rhetoric, makes their job harder when they’re trying to do the right thing, just from a more temperate position?
Thunberg is portrayed as a heroic hero in the overwhelming impression of the interview.
Your success has made you a hero among young people. However, as a child you were often bullied and isolated. It must be sort of complicated now that young people who previously didn’t support you or give you the time of day are putting you on a pedestal.
…. What can you say to other teenagers, whether they are experiencing bullying or those who do the bullying to encourage them to move on to better places?
Can you make a connection between our empathy on a personal level and the empathy we share as a global community facing climate change and climate justice,
This was perhaps the most terrifying question, but anti-democratic climate radicals are definitely thinking about it. They want climate lockdowns. How can the epidemic be used to teach us about how people can treat crises like they are?
Climate democracy dies in darkness? We are sorry, the crisis is over and democracy is not working.
