CNN reports that Harris got her second booster April 1, which is a very interesting timing.
Of course, this news comes not long after other high-profile D.C. figures have tested positive, including House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Attorney General Merrick Garland, Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA), Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-TX), and Harris’ new Communications Director, Jamal Simmons.
These positives were made public in April after a Gridiron dinner. The White House provided contradictory information regarding President Joe Biden’s close contact and mitigation steps (or lack thereof) as well as Harris.
As RedState’s Nick Arama noted at the time:
Kamala Harris was present at the event. Harris had been in close contact with her Communications Director Jamal Simmons, who announced on April 6 that he had come down with COVID. Harris said that she would be following “CDC guidance.” CDC guidance says that if you have had that close contact and you are up to date with all your vaccinations, you should wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days.
Harris didn’t wear a mask to the Senate when Jackson was confirmed. During her confirmation ceremony at the White House on Thursday, however, Harris wasn’t wearing a mask. She hugged KBJ while she spoke and stood alongside Biden.

Although the White House continues to host crowded indoor events, where masks can be worn and officials have given up wearing masks when in public, they claim that the government is going above federal guidelines in order to find Covid-19 within the building. There’s mandatory testing for those who come into contact with President Joe Biden and social distancing during meetings, at least when it’s possible.
Per CNN Correspondent, MJ Lee, Harris is not considered a “close contact” of Biden. (Telling in many ways. The Vice President has not yet shown symptoms.
According to a statement by VP, she has so far not experienced any symptoms. According to WH, she will “return the White House” if her tests are negative. pic.twitter.com/aF12F9gp8W
