Univision: Need An Abortion? Come To California!

Sandwiched between their morning news reports about the leak from the Supreme Court pointing to the possible end of Roe vs. Wade, Univision inserted a 30-second advertorial for Planned Parenthood in California, where “more and more women are coming in search of services (abortions) they don´t have where they live”.

This is how the pro-choice promotion was covered by the team at Univision´s Despierta AmericaThe morning of May 3,^Rd:

ALAN TACHER – California prepares for the consequences of strict anti-abortion laws passed in other states this morning. Women are arriving in California in greater numbers to seek services they don’t have. The state leaders have requested $3 million for Planned Parenthood, which will provide additional primary and abortion care. The Golden State currently welcomes 500 people per week. This number could increase over the coming months.

After admitting the successful implementation of right to life laws in “other states”, host Alan Tacher appealed to the “increasingly more women (to CA) in search of services that they don´t have in the place where they live”. Next came the lobbying for the number one baby-killer in the nation; “that is why state leaders are asking for $3 million dollar for the Planned Parenthood organization” to increase the number of abortions performed in the Golden State.

It is hard to watch this sneaky bit of ´reporting´ from Univision, and not see it for what is is: a fundraiser promotion aimed at the “up to 500 patients a week, and that number may increase” in the words of Tacher.
