Transgender Reality Star Rages at Rental Car Employees: ‘I’m a ma’am! … Suck my d—!’

“My ID says female.”

A transgender TV personality shared and then deleted a video to social media last week that shows her shouting at employees of Alamo Rent a Car and accusing them of misgendering her.

Savanna Maria Garcia, who is also a model, captioned the Jan. 20 post: “I was trying rent a car today at Alamo rental car today and they was very rude, no customer service at all, they got ghetto people with no customer service.”

According to the footage, Garcia trained her cellphone camera on workers at the car rental chain as she berated them. She became incensed when one of them called her, “sir.”

“I’m not a sir! I’m a ma’am!” she declared before turning the camera lens on herself. “I’m a ma’am. My ID says female. He’s being rude. Know your pronouns!”

“Suck my dick!” Garcia later told one of the employees.

The incident at Alamo Rent a Car was not Garcia’s first outburst on camera. Last April, she proudly appeared on an episode of NBC’s sensational “The Jerry Springer Show” that was entitled “Bachelor Party Hook-Up … With a Man!”

For many, the Alamo Rent a Car incident will bring to mind a similar conflict that took place at an Albuquerque, New Mexico, GameStop, where a trans woman also confronted employees who allegedly misgendered her. Video of the incident went viral and was widely covered by media outlets.

LGBT activists have spearheaded a rapid advance in trans rights in recent years, as evidence by the rollout of the first trans superhero on TV Sunday. However, even some supporters of the movement worry that it is overturning gendered social institutions without due consideration, and in ways that could threaten women’s safety.
