The Chicago Teachers’ Union Is Looking to Blow up the Lives of Children Again – Opinion

You might consider alternative options if you have children in Chicago’s public schools. According to Corey DeAngelis, who has been at the forefront of exposing corruption within teachers’ unions, the CPS teacher’s union is polling its members on not only returning to remote learning full-time but also in participating in a work stoppage.

Without paying close attention, who could have predicted this?

It is very troubling that any of these things could be considered, given the horrific experiences children have had. Aside from that, data doesn’t support new locking down measures.

For example, we know without a shadow of a doubt that Omicron is not dangerous to children in any statistically significant way, just as the prior variants weren’t either. We also know that teachers themselves have had every opportunity to get vaccinated over the last year, and even if they aren’t, the numbers show Omicron is extremely mild for adults. Although this variant of Omicron has been around for a while (and clearly was spreading prior to that), it can still be counted as a cause of death.

Yet, these big city teachers’ unions are looking for their next free ride anyway, contrary to many districts around the country that have actually done things right (my local district went back in August of 2020). There has been no more self-centered, entitled and selfish people in modern times. It’s to the point where these moves come across as parody. People couldn’t possibly be this shameless, right? Yet, they can be proud of what they do.

Nearly all employees across the nation went back to work more than a year ago. Essential workers didn’t stop working. However, teachers all across America got the 2020 school year off. Liberal bastions like Chicago also have the opportunity to get another slice of the cake. It’s insane.

But it’s also well-deserved. This blue city has given these unions the power they need to win elections. These chickens have returned to the nest and no one can blame them but themselves. No doubt, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot will oppose any future work stoppage, but she’s already handed the keys to the car to people who couldn’t care less about the harm they are doing to children.

This stuff won’t stop until the voters stop it. This means that voters must elect leaders who are prepared to fight these unions like Gov. Ron DeSantis in Florida. This is Chicago. You can expect pain to continue. If you are able to live there and have a sound mind it may be time for you to create an exit strategy.
