Actor Terry Crews Outrages Liberals by Calling Them a Bunch of Weaklings

“Terry Crews do better.”

Actor Terry Crews has in the past week gone from feminists’ favorite tough guy to ruthless owner of the libs.

Crews, a star of Fox’s “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” marked the transition with a tweet on Monday in which he parodied his outraged progressive critics. He even taunted them with their own jargon, saying: “Terry Crews do better.”

The saga began last week when Crews tweeted his thoughts about a New York Times op-ed in which human rights lawyer Derecka Purnell accused former President Barack Obama of scolding young black men instead of teaching them that they are systemically oppressed.

Crews took issue with a woman presuming to know better than “a successful black man” how to correctly raise a generation of black boys.

“MEN NEED TO HOLD OTHER MEN ACCOUNTABLE,” he said.

Many liberal Twitter users didn’t approve. Some charged Crews with denying that women have the right to speak about how to bring-up male children. And thus began a weeklong argument about gender and parenting roles.

On Friday, Crews made the case that children should ideally be raised by a father as well as a mother. While same-sex couples can be good parents, he said, “paternal AND maternal love are like vitamins and minerals to humanity.”

When one Twitter user objected, “love is not gendered. a child will not starve with only one gender loving them,” Crews responded, “But they will be severely malnourished.”

On Sunday, the actor deleted the tweet, and apologized to “anyone who was hurt” by what he said was a poor choice of words.

Still, woke commentators expressed disappointment with Crews’ stated views. They said they had expected more from the actor given his #MeToo advocacy and his openness about his experience as a victim of alleged sexual assault. Crews had also earned liberal cred by urging his friend Kevin Hart to acknowledge that his past anti-gay jokes were hurtful.

By Monday, Crews was apparently fed up.

He made his feelings known by tweeting what amounted to a scathing takedown of “Woke Twitter.” Using an exercise metaphor, the buffed former Old Spice spokesman suggested that his critics were denying the facts about what makes kids strong because of their own weaknesses.

That triggered another round of condemnations, with well-liked comments calling him “disgustingly” immature, unintelligent, and a “shamer” of disabled people.

However, the post also got nearly 55,000 likes and 8,000 retweets. Speaking for the Crews supporters, one man wrote: “Stay strong crews, don’t let the pansies get to you.”
