Ex-Miss Kentucky Admits Sending Nudes to Underage Teen — Says Husband Didn’t Pay Attention to Her

In a tearful court appearance on Tuesday, a former Miss Kentucky said she sent nude photos to a 15-year-old boy because she was lonely and her husband was working long hours.

Ramsey BethAnn Bearse, a former West Virginia school teacher who was named Miss Kentucky in 2014, pleaded guilty to one count of possession of material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct, ABC affiliate WCHS reported.

Bearse said she sent the first “risky” photo to the teen by mistake.

The 15-year-old was a former student at Andrew Jackson Middle School in Kanawha County, where Bearse was employed before being fired amid the scandal.

Bearse told the court on Tuesday that the teen “asked a lot of questions and I crossed the line and shared too much information of what I was going through at the time.”

“Basically, that my husband was working all the time and was too distracted and overwhelmed with work to pay attention to me. In addition, since I moved to West Virginia, I felt like I was completely alone. None of my family lives here, and I didn’t have any friends,” she said.

After the boy asked for more photos, Bearse said she “panicked.”

“I was afraid to not appease him, and when he asked for more, I sent him more photos of me,” Bearse said.

Bearse said at one point during their communications, the boy sent her a photo of his genitals.

According to Kanawha County court records, a deputy received a report regarding an adult sending inappropriate photographs to a student.

The deputy spoke to the 15-year-old victim’s parent, who said her son had inappropriate photographs of the teacher on his phone.

Authorities arrested Bearse in December of last year on four counts of sending obscene material to a minor, according to WCHS.

She faces up to two years in prison on the charge of possession of material depicting minors in sexually explicit conduct.
