Child Sex Abuse Comments Unearthed: Leader of Anti-Tucker Mob Has His Own History

“Consider yourselves lucky.”

Media Matters President Angelo Carusone, who is leading a campaign to boycott Fox News host Tucker Carlson for insensitive speech, has a history of his own.

As the Daily Caller pointed out Tuesday, citing its prior reporting, Carusone wrote a series of blog posts in 2015 in which he denigrated “trannies,” “Japs,” “jewry,” and Bangladeshis. He also defended alleged sexual abuse of young girls.

Carlson referenced the posts Wednesday on his show, “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” the work of an “enthusiastic bigot” and “ironic” given Carusone’s condemnations of him.

In a November 2005 post, Carusone defended a male basketball coach in Japan who had allegedly sexually and physically abused his female players.

Comparing the young girls’ experience to his having to shower nude after gym class in high school, the future Media Matters for America chief advised the “Japs” to “lighten up.”

He added: “I had to shell out 4 grand a year for the treatment that you’re getting for free. Consider yourselves lucky.”

In a post the same day, titled “Tranny Paradise,” Carusone wrote about a Bangladeshi man who was robbed by “a gang of transvestites.” He took issue with the notion that a transgender person could be described as “attractive”.

“Did you notice the word attractive? What the fuck is that doing in there? Is the writer a tranny lover too?,” he said. “Or, perhaps he’s trying to justify how these trannies tricked this Bangladeshi in the first place?”

Carusone then took a racial turn, disparaging the the victim in the incident for being Bangladeshi.

“Look man, we don’t need to know whether or not they were attractive. The fucking guy was Bangladeshi,” Carusone wrote. “And while we’re out, what the hell was he doing with $7,300 worth of stuff. The guy’s Banladeshi!”

Carusone in October also posted anti-Semitic comments about his boyfriend, saying: “despite his jewry, you KNOW he’s adorable.”

In another post, Carusone claimed that his boyfriend only leaned conservative “as a result of his possession of several bags of Jewish gold.”

Confronted with his own rhetorical record, Carusone has dismissed it as old news, and claimed that he was actually parodying a “right-wing blowhard.” At the same time, he has promoted Media Matter’s attempted takedown of Carlson in the press and on social media – and supported demands that his show be boycotted.

On Sunday and Monday, the left-wing watchdog published audio clips of Carlson calling into the popular radio program “Bubba the Love Sponge” between 2006 and 2011. Media Matters deemed the remarks – which denigrated women and Iraqis – “misogynistic,” “perverted,” “racist,” and “white nationalist.”

Amid backlash and a reported drop in advertising, Carlson has refused to apologize, saying he will not answer to “the great American outrage machine,”

Fox News has stood behind its star, and other prominent conservatives, from National Review’s David French to Donald Trump Jr., have defended Carlson’s right to be politically incorrect.

Retweeting Carlson’s refusal to apologize, the president’s son commented approvingly: “This is how you handle the outrage mob.”
