Leftist Outrage Over ‘Let’s Go, Brandon’ Dad Is the Fakest of Fake Fakery – Opinion

I know I don’t need to tell you this, but I’m going to do it anyway: The outrage over the dad that said “let’s go Brandon” on a phone call with President Joe Biden is about as fake as AOC’s concern over the treatment of illegal immigrants in an empty parking lot. High-profile activists and leftists are giving an Oscar-worthy performance as they attempt to persuade the nation that insulting the president is a grave sin.

After the father, who has been identified as Jared Schmeck from Oregon, said he wished Biden and his wife would have a “wonderful Christmas as well,” and then said “Let’s go, Brandon,” the left-wing chattering class had a collective meltdown. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth on social media and in various left-leaning op-eds from progressives clutching their pearls at Jared’s comments.

Even worse, folks on the left have begun a campaign to ruin Jared’s life for daring to take a shot at their president. RedState’s Nick Arama wrote:

The left has allegedly threatened Joe Biden now, and they’re not just trying to destroy Joe Biden’s family. Schmeck said he’s now been getting “vague but threatening” phone calls since the exchange with the president.

Jared’s address was posted on Twitter by mad leftists. His followers were also encouraged to harass him. The group also started a campaign of slander against the family company where he works. They were simply following one of the key tenets in wokeism: To completely destroy anyone who mocks your leader or speaks out against you.

How can I tell if this outrage really is real?

Elementary, my dear reader. To start with, 92.5 percent is fake leftist outrage. This we are aware.

There is another way. You can tell if someone truly believes in their principles by how they use them. Let’s go back to October 2017 when Trump Derangement Syndrome was still in full force.

You might recall the story of Juli Briskman, who made headlines after she was photographed extending her middle finger at then-President Donald Trump’s motorcade while riding her bicycle. This is the The New York Times reported:

Juli Briskman, 50, was riding her bicycle on Lowes Island Boulevard after 3 p.m. on Oct. 28 when she found herself sharing a lane with President Trump’s motorcade, which was leaving the Trump National Golf Course in Sterling, Va. As the fleet of about a half-dozen vehicles started to roll slowly past her, she thought briefly of cutting between the cars and riding away.

Instead, Ms. Briskman performed the spontaneous gesture. The moment was quickly shared on social media and captured by news cameras.

“Honestly, my blood started boiling at that point,” she said during an interview. “I saw somebody holding a newspaper; I assumed he was in there.”

Briskman was angered by Trump’s policies on immigration and health care, and she had learned earlier in the day that he was playing golf in the area.

“I just got angry,” the woman said. “I lifted my arm and started flipping him off. I started thinking, You’re golfing again when there is so much going on right now.”

The left didn’t react to the news. No wailing, no grumbling of teeth. Hell, none of these people even went the “I don’t agree with what she did, but Trump’s policies are problematic” route.

Briskman was later fired from her job for violating her employer’s social media policy. The cyclist was praised for her efforts. GoFundMe raised more than $100,000 from supporters.

Comedian Patton Oswalt tweeted:

“Her name is Juli Briskman (@julibriskman), she’s from my hometown (Sterling, VA) and she’s a patriot. Give her a job. Thank you.”

The New YorkerBriskman was even a portion of the Christmas poem they dedicated to them

While we still linger, give us more props.

To put it simply, they responded to Briskman’s uncouth actions by singing her praises. But it gets even better. This cyclist was able to use the media coverage to win a local election. 2019 saw her sworn into office as Loudoun County Board of Supervisors member.

Starting at New York Times:

The incumbent was defeated by Ms. Briskman (52) who ran as a Democrat. She received just more than 52 percent. She campaigned on updating the county’s environmental plan, adding affordable housing and increasing pay for teachers and firefighters. While knocking on thousands, she only occasionally mentioned her iconic single-digit gesture.

“I never led with it,” she said. “Voters want to know about the local issues.”

Yeah, sure. Evidently, she didn’t need to take the lead because it was obvious that everyone knew her because of the incident.

Not only was the left unimpressed by President Trump’s flippant behavior, but they also celebrated and supported her. Yet another proof that the people who scream at Jared Schmeck have bovine excrement.

Were Schmeck’s actions appropriate? Yes, but not. We criticize the same behavior when it’s used against one of ours. This is not a reason to criticize him or try to ruin his life.

They don’t mind disrespecting the president of America. They just don’t like it when you do it to a president they like, which can mean only one thing: They are raging hypocrites who should not be taken seriously.
