People flocked to Fox News after the Mar-a-Lago attack.
This also includes late-night programming, where once again, Greg Gutfeld of “Gutfeld!” took The top spot, even breaking records while he was at it according to The Hill:
“Gutfeld!” notched its highest-rated week in program history in total viewers with 2.4 million, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
CBS’s “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” came in second place with 2.1 million, while NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” notched 1.3 Million. ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” earned just over a million viewers during the same period.
On cable, Gutfeld’s record week beat out MSNBC’s “11th Hour with Stephanie Ruhle,” a news and talk program which earned 1.3 million, and CNN’s “Don Lemon Tonight,” which earned less than a million.
Even worse is the situation for the hosts. Forbes reports that the youngest crowd watches him more than any other host.
Gutfeld! also led among younger viewers, dominating among adults 25-54, the key demographic valued by national advertisers. The Fox News show delivered an average audience of 397,000 viewers, followed by CBS’ Colbert (373,000 viewers), NBC’s Fallon (372,000 viewers) and ABC’s Kimmel (264,000 viewers).
And he’s doing this without celebrity guests and in-house bands.
Gutfeld has a habit of beating established shows with or without a giant scandal, but naturally, Gutfeld did dedicate some time to the raid on his program and didn’t disappoint. Gutfeld made fun of how the media tried to redefine the FBI raid in all the humor viewers were used to.
Gutfeld’s success isn’t likely to be widely discussed by the media. Historically, the mainstream media attempts to ignore the show on Fox News that’s leading in viewers, but it’s hard to ignore prime-time’s largest show with late-night’s most popular host, Stephen Colbert, getting schooled by a relative newcomer to the late-night show scene.
Gutfeld isn’t necessarily a rookie, as he’s the former host of the popular Fox News late-night show “Red Eye,” but “Gutfeld!” has only been on the air since 2015. Not only is his show attracting more viewers, but it’s also proving people need an alternative to the established shows constantly pandering to Democrats.
