Full-Metal Manchin Joins GOP to Torpedo Biden’s Vax Mandate – Opinion

West Virginia Democrat Senator Joe Manchin is America’s most powerful politician. These days, no one comes even close to Joe Manchin. Is that a bold statement? For sure. True? That, too. Without Manchin’s vote in the Senate, the Democrats are screwed. They know this. Joe Manchin is even better.

Case in point: Manchin, on Thursday, released a statement declaring his opposition to Biden’s executive order requiring businesses with at least 100 employees to force their workers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 or undergo regular testing by Jan. 4.

In the middle of the COVID-19 Pandemic, and the new Omicron variant emerging, I won’t vote for the shutdown government out of political considerations. For the American people, there is far too much at stake.

To be very clear, I oppose any government mandate to immunize private business. That’s why I have co-sponsored and will strongly support a bill to overturn the federal government vaccine mandate for private businesses.

My belief has been that we should encourage and not penalize private employers, whose job it is to keep their employees safe from COVID-19. Personally, I’ve had two vaccines as well as a booster shot. I urge all West Virginians to be vaccinated.

Amen, Democrats — and that is precisely why federal appeals courts continue to block Biden’s unconstitutional mandates, regardless of his various circuitous attempts to impose them on the country.

Understand, the opposition isn’t what’s powerful, here. To understand this you need only some knowledge. Multiple vaccine mandates have been blocked by federal courts in several states, and most Americans are against them. In the case of Manchin, it’s just simple math.

Here’s the thing. I’ve always both admired this guy and questioned his hypocrisy, sometimes, oddly, at the same time. In West Virginia, Manchin is a perilously intelligent and highly-conscious partisan who chooses to side with voters. Manchin, while this is a must for any politician, often feels he has to try and kiss both his butts simultaneously.

Here’s the other thing. I’m not suggesting Manchin’s approach is wrong, here. His position is in fact 100 percent correct. Simply put, the Constitution does not allow the federal government to order vaccines. No matter how much Biden lies. This right belongs to the individual states. Period.

It is Senator Joe Manchin. He also has the 50th vote for those of us who are not loons.

And as we reported on Thursday, the vaccine mandate thingy isn’t going that well in Murder City, at all. Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has dropped the Windy City’s vax mandate lawsuit against its own police department. That sentence almost reads like it’s from the satire site, The Babylon Bee, huh? It’s amazing.

While I “appreciate” the left effectively peeing into the fan, constitutional realities do not support their ever-increasing power grab.

Particularly, in relation to vax mandates.

Period.

But they won’t.
