‘Not in My Backyard’ Liberals’ Worst Nightmare Just Came True: Trump’s Illegals Are Coming

“Illegal Immigrants will be given to Sanctuary Cities and States!”

President Donald Trump announced Monday that he’s moving forward with a plan to send detained migrants to sanctuary cities despite – or because of – liberal protestations.

Trump tweeted that immigrants who entered the United States illegally and cannot be held any longer will be shipped to the mostly Democratic municipalities, which refuse to fully cooperate with federal immigration law. However, he added that the plan would be “subject to Homeland Security.”

The president also called on Congress, which is currently on a two-week recess, to immediately return to Washington, D.C, and pass immigration reform.

Administration officials on Thursday dismissed a Washington Post report that Trump planned to bus immigrants to sanctuary cities. But Trump confirmed the report on Friday and said he was still “strongly considering” such a move.

Trump’s declared interest in the plan has outraged prominent Democrats along with liberal activists and celebrities.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s, D-Calif. office, who represents part of the sanctuary city of San Francisco, called the plan “despicable.” In a statement, Pelosi spokeswoman Ashley Etienne accused the administration of using human beings as political pawns.

“The extent of this Administration’s cynicism and cruelty cannot be overstated,” she said. “Using human beings — including little children — as pawns in their warped game to perpetuate fear and demonize immigrants is despicable, and in some cases, criminal.”

“The American people have resoundingly rejected this Administration’s toxic anti-immigrant policies, and Democrats will continue to advance immigration policies that keep us safe and honor our values,” Etienne added.

Sen. Cory Booker, D-N.J., who is one of his party’s presidential candidates, also blasted the plan over the weekend, saying Trump was making Americans “less safe.”

“He is injecting fear into our country. If he was looking to solve a problem, he wouldn’t be doing things to divide this country against ourself,” Booker said. “Beware of anybody that’s trying to tell you to be afraid in the strongest country in the world as opposed to showing our strength and our courage to find common sense solutions to this problem.”

Trump’s efforts to crack down on illegal immigration have been repeatedly frustrated by legal obstacles. After his plan to secure border wall funding failed to gain traction in Congress, Trump declared a national emergency on the border.

The order made it possible to redirect already allocated federal funds for use on the wall, but infuriated Democrats who claimed the declaration was an overreach of executive power.
