Gun Store Runs ‘Beto Special’ on AR-15s – Sells Out in Less Than 4 Hours

A Phoenix gun store ran a discount on AR-15 rifles in direct response to 2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke and sold out in less than four hours.

In a Facebook post shared Friday, Alpha Dog Firearms revealed it had sold out of its $349.99 “Beto special.”

“We’re trying to process the orders and work on getting more special deals for our good friend gun grabber Beto,” the company said in the post, which was “liked” more than 1,000 times.

Alpha Dog Firearms’ special was apparently made in response to O’Rourke’s visit in August to an Arkansas gun shop. A photo O’Rourke shared to Twitter that month shows him standing beneath a sign advertising AR-15s for $395.

Beto O’Rourke: ““Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15s”

O’Rourke’s outspoken advocacy for gun control stance in the wake of an Aug. 3 mass shooting in El Paso, Texas has ruffled feathers among proponents of gun rights.

During Thursday night’s Democratic primary debate in Houston, O’Rourke responded to the moderator’s question about his stance on guns by saying he supported a ban on weapons “designed to kill on the battlefield.”

“Hell yes, we are going to take your AR-15s, your AK-47s, we are not going to allow them to be used against fellow Americans any more,” O’Rourke said.

Republican state representative Briscoe Cain tweeted out a response to O’Rourke later on in the night.

“My AR is ready for you Robert Francis,” Cain said in the tweet.

O’Rourke replied with a tweet of his own, characterizing Cain’s comments as a “death threat” and declaring that neither Cain nor “anyone else” should own an AR-15.

Many conservatives and proponents of the Second Amendment mocked O’Rourke after he recently said American gun owners will willingly handover their firearms under his promised mandatory buyback program.
