Thursday night marked the beginning of six public hearings by the Democrat lead January 6 Committee. It was a spectacular spectacle that liberal media loved. This is to demonstrate the importance of American institutions and rule of law. The View’s Joy Behar lived up to ABC standards and decried Attorney General Merrick Garland for waiting to see hard evidence and a report before he took the action she wanted: hauling former President Trump to “jail.”
Behar looked like she was trying to persuade viewers to believe in the committee after returning from a commercial break. “So, last night was the first of six televised hearings from the January 6 committee, and they promised that they have the receipts that show Trump is to blame,” she said.
Garland was then the object of her fury. “Attorney General Merrick Garland promises he’ll watch, quote, unquote, ‘as much as he is able.’ Isn’t this his job?!” Behar exclaimed. “What other job does this guy have, I would like to know, and when is he going to do something. Then he’ll decide after he watches the whole thing, whether or not to arrest him for trying to overthrow the government.”
What she’s essentially complaining about is that Garland wasn’t acting like an enforcer for the Democratic Party in this instance and just rounding up her political enemies and throwing them in prison. That’s what dictators do, and that liberal media claimed that every Trump attorney general would do.
“I think a lot of people are waiting to find out just that, like, what happens next? This isn’t to prosecute, I am certain. What we’re watching these next six times is not to prosecute,” Republican Lindsey Granger reminded her, noting the others facing charges.
Granger had made her peace. Behar wanted to be able to tell Granger what she needed. Ana Navarro (self-described Republican) was the one who gave it to Behar. “So, Ana is he going to go to jail, Trump? Anybody know the answer?”
“I think people have very little trust right now in the system,” Navarro huffed, hinting that just tossing Trump in jail was what would solve the problem.
Making the first of her two points, Navarro went on to declare that “Donald Trump, no matter how much people try to change the narrative, is going to two down in Anals [sic] of American history with the names of Benedict Arnold and Richard Nixon, he is a traitor.”
As actor George Takei famously says, “oh, my!”
For her second point, Navarro praised Congresswoman Liz Cheney’s (R-WY) performance during the hearing:
Look, we’ve had all these indictments so far, but the people who’ve been indicted were the cavalry. They haven’t yet indicted the generals. So I expect that the committee will continue to review the case. Liz Cheney did a great job yesterday explaining the case. The seven different actions that Donald Trump went through.
Navarro had earlier mentioned that Cheney should be Republican nominee for the 2024 election.
“She was speaking legal jargon. She was speaking to Merrick Garland, who better get off his duff and do something about this,”She demanded it with bitterness. And despite the urging for extrajudicial imprisonment, Navarro had the nerve to claim this would be done for the ideal “we cannot be a lawless country.”
These calls for the extrajudicial arrest of a former president were made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Olay and Ensure. They are linked.

Eastern, 11:21:42JOY BEAR: This was the first of six live televised hearings by the January 6th committee. They promised they had the receipts to prove that Trump is responsible. Okay? Attorney General Merrick Garland promises he’ll watch, quote, unquote, “as much as he is able.”
Doesn’t that seem like his job? Would you know what other occupation this man has? And when will he do it? He’ll then decide, after watching the whole thing carefully, whether to arrest the man for trying to overthrow or destabilize the government.
That is depressing. It scares my hell. This is almost like a Mueller moment. We were excited, then we did nothing.
What is the final game, Lindsey, please?
LINDSEY GRAGER: It seems like a lot people want to know what the next step is. It’s not to prosecute. We’re not going to be prosecuted.
We must also understand the importance of what has already happened. I find it very significant that 800 people were arrested for rioting at the Capitol Steps. What is the charge against four boys? Conspiracy – seditious conspiracy is important to me because when I watched that last night and I saw that Proud Boys “stand back and stand by,” help rally the troops and more racism in this country, that is the part that hit home for me.
So, that is really important to know that the steps are being taken and that’s why I think people want to know, if this is a little bit of a spectacle because they want to understand what’s going to happen at the end of this besides knowing what we already understood.
BEHAR: Is he planning to be sent to prison, Trump? Do you know the truth?
ANA NAVARRO: Listen. The system is not trust worthy right now. It won’t make a difference with Trump supporters. That’s irrelevant. There are two main points to this. History is the other. The January 6th events will never be erased or whitewashed by history. No matter what people do to alter the story, Donald Trump is the one who will win. [sic]He is a traitor to American history through the names Richard Nixon and Benedict Arnold.
[Crosstalk and applause]
NAVARRO: Look, we’ve had all these indictments so far, but the people who’ve been indicted were the cavalry. They haven’t yet indicted the generals. So I expect that the committee will continue to review the case. Liz Cheney did a great job yesterday explaining the case. The seven different actions that Donald Trump went through.
She spoke legal jargon. Merrick Garland was the one she was speaking with. Merrick should get up and take action.
BEHAR: That’s right.
NAVARRO: We cannot have a lawless nation where the president is assisted by members of Congress, who apparently asked for it —
SUNNY HOTIN: President’s pardons.
NAVARRO – Presidential Pardons. There is no way we can be a nation where the president could try to organize a coup and get so close that police officers are hurt. It’s so mad again. You thought that I would have processed it? It’s because we hear about it so often.
BEHAR: I am furious. I am furious.
NAVARRO : Then all of a sudden this thing had me. Trump and his compatriots are not forgiven.
